She reportedly died at her home in Los Angeles following a brief illness.

Born on March 4, 1954, in Toronto, Canada, Catherine O’Hara began her career with the city’s renowned Second City comedy troupe at just 20 years old. She initially served as an understudy to Gilda Radner, later joining the main cast when Radner moved on to join Saturday Night Live. 

O’Hara rose to prominence as a key member of the influential SCTV ensemble, alongside John Candy, Eugene Levy, Rick Moranis, and other future comedy legends helping shape a generation of North American sketch comedy.
